In Loving Memory

Barberey Starr Brooke Atwood, 77, of Little Rock died Friday, November 28, 2014. She was born November 7, 1937 in Washington, D.C. to the late Major Charles Mitchell Brooke (USMC Ret.) and Mildred Offterdinger Brooke. Mrs. Atwood served her country as a nurse and later as a nurse anesthetist in the United States Air Force and in the mid 1970s earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Chapman University. She was a volunteer for Hospice and worked as a nurse anesthetist for the VA Hospital from 1996 until her retirement on July 31, 2014. She was a military wife for 30 years supporting her husband, Colonel Daryl Gene Atwood (USAF Ret.) who died in October of 1996 after 37 years of marriage. Read more
